Atkins Steelcraft was founded in 1989 by Brad Atkins.
Brad is a qualified boilermaker and ran his own steel fabrication & erection business for 20 years. In 2006 he sold out of steel fabrication and started a structural steel detailing business based in Yatala, Queensland.
The company uses the latest Tekla 3D technology drafting software, which is considered to be the most innovative in the world. Tekla's parent company "Trimble" purchased Strucad in December 2011 and merged the two entities. PointCloud detailing allows existing structures to be loaded into the drafting model and to connect new to existing.
The 3D technology Trimble Connect is a tool that allows clients to view the project in its actual form, including bolts and connections in the finest of detail. Steel erectors and project managers are utilizing this tool to assist with the construction process on site and in the workshop.
